congratulations rob .. all the best with your new acquisition...plenty of history with this old girl, and for a long time she has been nicely kept alive by JT as one of the last original ones still working, after a good innings of about FORTY SIX YEARS

Do JLP still have the british truck (Thornycroft, Leyland or similar) as a yard truck at their Toowoomba depot? I can remember it when I was a kid in the late 70s, then for a long time after that.

Hoarder, the Toowoomba truck found a new home a little while ago. It was an Atkinson, I've got a picture of it somewhere taken in the yard at Toowoomba.

The Atkinson I am restoring was also bought new by JLP. I think it is a 1972 model, but they claim to have purchased it in 1970 (chassis and engine numbers match) so we are still trying to sort that out. JLP are going through their archives to see what they can find. Unfortunately they don't see to have very many photos of their earlier trucks. Mine was fleet number 109 and they paid $21,800 for it.
