Collection For Sale
15.07.2009 at 19:17:51

I went over to Dale Barnard and Karen Braken`s today to have a bit of a look for Pat.Dale and Karen have got to downsize,so almost everything is up for sale. There`s a few tractors there as well.A bit of a quick rundown includes a lot of military vehicles,a Federal Tank Transporter with a Hercules Diesel,a Diamond T Tank Transporter with an origonally fitted 220 Cummins,Commer Knocker with a 6V53,D1000 Ford with a UD4,KM Bedford with a 6V53 in pieces,a single drive B model,a Petrol Diamond T,an R190,a bogie strap trailer,a couple of tank transporters, and heaps of stuff I`ve forgotten to mention.I`ll see if Karen can reply to this if anyone wants details,or you can PM me for thier details.

With turnover down 60% and bills still comming in at the same rate as before, apart from a much smaller fuel bill  Like i said the wallet says no ,and it does not help that all the customers are doing it just as tuff and money is slow comming from them.Still would have found that $500 to make  joes dream project a reallity. OOOOWWHH but those little cat crawlers look tempting.  Hey bigcam you can't do me a melonreo and bargan him down to $500 bucks can yah ???NO ? didnt think so  Sad Sad Oh well just as you think things couldn't get worse ,worse comes along and dangles a couple of nice cats under your nose.As the toyota dog says BUGGER!!! ian.

I've chatted with Karen on numerous occasions and can second Cam's comments that they are genuine and passionate people.  It's a wonderful collection and sad it has to be split up to some extent.  Here's hoping their fortunes turn around.

Kenny,Dale reckons all the tractors are going,if your keen send me a PM and I`ll give you the phone number.
Deadly, the big Beddy is probobly the same as the last time you saw it,one of the reasons they are getting rid of the gear is that there isn`t enough time in the day to do them all.I was out there again today,do you want a couple more pics if I go back out? They are only only 10 or 15 mins from my shed.

Come on you lot! We're looking for the last of the BIG SPENDERS here. $500 isn't going to get us out of the nuts we're in! And, for those salivating over the B Model, it's mine and at this stage, it's not up for sale!  Neither's the Cobra, it's HIS!

Welcome aboard, Karen.  Good to see you here.  The $500 refers to another thread that is joked about often at the moment.  I have no doubt you'll sell the vehicles you have available - there's some awesome gear there.

Hello Bigcam
Well I did realise that after I sent the message that Dale's phone number had been given, the meantime I have spoken to Dale and with a little luck we may be able to purchase a truck.
My thanks for your effort in making me aware of the trucks.

Many thanks

Rex

I'm back after a 6 month's break. Our truck sales weren't frequent enough to keep the wolves at bay, let alone pay the mortgage, so a couple of months back we (I) decided that we'd go to auction on Sunday Feb 7th 2010 (the day after the Toowoomba Swap).  So if you're coming up to the swap, come on down to our auction and stay over (you camp in your swag in the yard) from auction night.

With only 3 months to get them ready, I went thru and chose the best, the ones restored and ready to go, ie, Diamond P3320, 1942 4X4 Chev Yankee Joe, Commer with the GMV653, Le Roi compressor tractor and WW2 Willys Jeep. Then those which are dead and were going to stay that way for awhile if left in our hands ie, KMR Bedford GMV653, 2 x TD6 International dozers, 1940 Lendlease Chev cab chassis, 604 Federal Tank Transporter, and a Chevy and Isuzu for scap. Then, all of those which needed a bit of finishing off, or a bit of a repair. Don't you love it, everytime you take one out to a rally someone comes along and points out what is wrong, missing or broken! So this included the Mk II chamberlain industrial, the two super dexta's, the Fordson County Crawler, the Cat 22, the Ford D1000 with the UD 2 stroke (running), Inter R190 4X4 RAAF tipper, WW2 Clayton welder, Others like the 49 Fergy, 1973 Ford D1013 Fire truck, 2 strap trailers, Massey Harris 102 Junior, Kaiser Reo 6X6 submersible, 1942 Studebaker 6X6, Bristol 20 crawler, Bristol PD crawler didn't have anything additional done to them.

We're taking the opportunity to have a huge sell out so it's turned into a massive sale of machinery, truck parts, furniture, bric a brac etc.
With only days to go we're busy lining them up, putting on labels and fighting with a bit of rain at the moment.

I can provide details to anyone by email or by phone on 0408749012. Alternatively, check out the TOMM website, or auctioneers, Goetsch and Notley or check out my revitalised blogspot at www.anzacconvoy.blogspot.com.

Sorry if I didn't answer your enquiries earlier, even I get the miseries and lose the plot sometimes, but I'm back fit and raring to go for a good day next Sunday. Thanks to Dave and BigCam for their encouragement
