no wonder they flogged it off in a raffle. It's broken.

seriousley..... That;s a tidy little machine, shouldn't
take too mutch to get it going. What are parts like to
get fo an early one like that?....

One of me mates has a D73T and and has trouble getting some bits sometimes.........Mark

Hello,I reckon new parts be in the unobtainium bin. Last year I had my 1929 Nash 6cyl block rebored by 30 thou, this cost $286. JP Pistons in SA supplied new pistons and rings for $781, just send them an old piston and the oversize required, I broke an oil ring when fitting and they made another promptly.
Had water in sump of 2 Ton, head off and on a couple of times then discovered corrosion in head where oil  returns down a front and rear bolt so blocked off the leaky one. David.

I was over at William Adams in Boundary Road Laverton North 2 days ago and sitting in their Spare parts section is a fully restored 2 ton Cat like yours i didn't have my camera with me. If you are over the Left side of Town have a look, if not i may be able to call in and get some photo's.

Hehehehe,  and just think folks,   today it is near impossible to get someone to operated a machine with out an air con cab,
Back in the early 60's we had a fill quarry start in our back yard, the bloke had the old D7 with the cable running overhead, for years that thing ran backwards and forward pushing up fill,  that man reckons he was dropped of a landing craft in n g during the war, only trouble was the water was almost over the bonnet,  same fellow turned up at the old home about 6 years ago, that dozer was still working out on his sons wheat farm
Moral is, love em or hate em,  they were well made, and modern too, over head cam, it would never strip that drive gear,

it will build up quite well

Swishy,

Have you done an autopsy on the beasts donk to find out where the stir fry in the sump came from ?
Know where there is a couple of them donks we might be able to get some bits.
