G'day, I'm pretty excited to be restoring an old truck for the first time, I just need an insight into where I start! I have pulled the seats out and done a clean out of the cab, and I just don't know what the best thing is to do next. Also for parts where is the ideal place to source things such as door skins and exterior panels?
Any help is appreciated! Will attach some photos

What are your plans for it??
Work or Play? It looks fairly straight in the pics, What parts do you need?

Coniston Comet. Your Tyre service in West Wyalong would be good place to start for the Tyres.
Your Panels will either have to be repaired, Or source S/H ones from somewhere.

I'm a little unsure what you mean by Door skins..
Put up some pics, as they're worth a thousand words..

PS: I've spliced your 2 threads together, & moved them to the Resto section. So if you keep adding to It as you go, You'll have record of your Restoration..

Thanks Hayseed, thats where i was trying to get!
Plans for it are a bit of both, work where i need to and play the rest of time!
To be honest, i am looking for a bit of guidance as to what i need to look for and if there is anything that should be checked and replaced with interior or exterior..

Right now I would suggest that you give it a spring clean, put the seats back in and play with it, get it running and learn about the model. From the pics it looks pretty straight with no need for panel replacement. Get to a few vintage truck shows so you can chat to other owners who will tell you about any problem areas. Collect any parts you need and more money in the bank before taking it apart and only dissasemble when you are ready to go.

Many people make the mistake of pulling their truck apart with grand plans of a full restoration then find they haven't got the time or money to get it back together. Mamoths suggestion is good. Do the minimum work to get it on the road and start enjoying it. Fix things that break but otherwise leave it alone until you have a well thought out plan and know you have the resources to get it done.

Hey Coniston Comet

There is some great advice there. Some I should listen to also. As you are, I will also be embarking on my first vehicle project (Inter C1800). I have been told before never to start a project until you have everything together that you know you need as there will be just as much you didn't know you needed. He also said it's easier to hide it from the other half that way.

I will be watching as we have all but the same truck. Good luck.
