just drivin' about the other day, collecting water as we do here abouts.... spoke to the driver.

GM... he thinks so
6 cyl... yep.... often get blokes asking...
road ranger, yep
straight or over drive (had to explain) ...straight, box is a bit light, boss is getting a new one.
noisy.... yeah long days
kept in noice tidy condition, and gets along OK.
watch him drive off, he gave it a fair boot, not a real cracking noise, those short 5 inch choofers soften the bark.

I shoulda looked at the back gound, the water pipes make it look like real tall 3 inch stacks

.
Spotted this at the Guyra Lamb and Potato Festival a while back.................
As I was told ...............An EJ ute body fitted over a Commodore floor pan.
using all the Commodore mechanicals.
The EJ was cut at the back of the bonnet & lengthened.
Then cut at the rear of the cab & lengthened.
Then cut length wise down the centre & widened .
then welded to the Commodore floor pan (don't ask me how)..
Over 400 hours of welding alone on the bodywork.
Not a ripple to be seen anywhere in the body...unbelievable.......

Hows that for a neat build up.........................

A pic from a gold prospecting expedition about 20 years ago,
We were heading east from Nullagine WA (on our own)....
From this sign we still had nearly 200Ks to get to where we wanted
to go........didn't see a soul for 3 weeks till we got back
to Nullagine.

Billy,
Loved the post of rollover, also that road warning sign is about as subtle as a hand grenade!
Gee, that bloke did a magic job on the EH, wouldn't have been done or owned by a bloke surname of Dawson, would it? There are, the old AEC D.D, I can just see you making a project out of that!

A few years ago we went down the Balladonia Track to Cape Arid .WA.
To nite I was lookin on Google Earth at that area & spotted this..............

Parked across the start of the track on the side of the Eyre Highway
(opposite the Balladonia Roadhouse) was this KW .with only
3 drive legs on the deck............
You wouldn't know where it fizzled out.......but..........this would have
been quicker (& cheaper I would have imagined ) than sittin on your bum
waitin for a repair man to arrive...........
Assumin it was the wheel bearings that tossed it in.............whip the lot
off........toss it on the back,,,,,,,...in with the diff lock........& away we go,................

HMMM,
A three-wheeled tandem!

What will they think of next?

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!
