'Tective,

Tooling around on this site and came across an older Rod Smith photo taken at Tullamarine from memory, showed what has been identified as a Karrier Gamecock. After a bit of research, found out that some of these were fitted with your beloved TS3 'Singer Sewing Machine"' engines.

Bought back memories of too many years ago now, maybe 50 odd, of a mob called "Mile-O- Way" transport in NSW, who ran those little Commer/Karrier's, I always thought they were designated "Spatchcock" but couldn't find if that was so. They also had the 4 cylinder Humber engine (upright I think), 4 speed box and ran on little sixteen inch dual wheels. Had
an extremely low tray height, would have been ideal for some of those city deliveries in tight alleys and narrow loading docks.
Know anything about them? Maybe someone else can shed a little light on them?

Hi Dave .. pretty sure the Karriers had Gamecocks and Bantams out here...Can't say I've heard of or seen a Spatchcock...??

...In there purest form they were smaller "second line" trucks with smaller wheels, engines, braking and other lighter duty mechanicals...although the Kiwis bent the rules by a fair bit with judicious use of "badge engineering" when needed LOL !! ...Cheers mate

Smart looking bunk, especially for that era. Large exhaust pipe, (repower?). Would like to know the history. There would be some stories to tell if that truck could talk The good old days eh. Anyone know anything about it?
