One for all you International Wizards.
Was the D1310 and D1410 Ever optioned with a 345 V8.
If it was, dose anyone have any photo's ,(or have any for sale or swap), engine and gearbag mounts.
I have just picked up a 345 this afternoon out of an old ACCO, has a big heavy 5 speed box that i think will be of no use to me, but we'll see.

Cheers
Alistair

An auto box out of a 345 IH Scout would make a real nice combination and just a bolt-up fit.

Here is a D1310 with an original 345 - you are away!

Hi Lang
It HAS to be a Manual. NO Auto's for this little(overweight) Black Duck.
I found a 1974 ,(same year as mine), 345 But not as 4WD.
It looks like gearbox mounts might be close or same, but the front engine mount is not what i have.

It may not be too hard to cut and shut the front mounts in the ACCO to fit your chassis or maybe go the other way and cut and shut your existing 6 cylinder mounts. Building new mounts is not rocket science and should be within the grasp of any competent welder or metal worker.

Just some ideas but you have probably thought of all that already.

Front mount should not be a problem, I have a bell housing to go from inter to Isuzu 6 peed overdrive to give you some road speed, regards Andrew

I'm not sure i wan't to go too quick in the old girl, just the same, how much do you want for the bellhousing?
Bearing in mind, that the rear mounts are off the gearbag or bellhousing, not the engine.

Here is another D1310 345 (2WD) for sale. I think you should have no problem getting yours registered regardless of 2 or 4 wheel drive.

A thing to look at in 4X4 conversion is sump clearance from the front difff. Many 4X4 vehicles have different shaped sumps from their 2WD brothers with the same engine to overcome this problem. Maybe the 245 does not stick down too far? If it does you may be able to sneak an inch or two in height when you build the front mounts. Maybe find a Scout sump if it is required.

Hi Lang
Thanks for that Info
I've seen that 1310 for sale for a while now. Looks nice but i thinks he is a bit ambitious on his price. When it first appeared, i think he had about 16,000 on it. Nice if they had that value.
Cheers

Is'nt the 345 front mount further back in the chassis than the 6 cyl mount?
