Here in the West we don't even get the end of road works signs.
Total guess as to when you have passed the works.
Have been caught before, passed some workers in a reduced to 40 K area and no sign for a few hundred metres of any other workers and went back to the speed limit. A K down the road found more workers, so I had been in a 40 K zone the whole time.
On an 80 K road the could have cost me my vehicle for a month and a heap of money.
Cheers Steve

Easiest major project to do would be connecting Eastern Freeway with Ring road at Greensborough but that would take profits away from Trans Urban so battle your way up Rosanna road for another 20 years.

That bit of road is called the Greensborough Highway AP, what a joke!

Brocky, I find US drivers very good in general. They let you in and are much better mannered than the average Australian driver. Can you imagine Australians in San Francisco - all squares with hundreds of 4 way stop sign intersections. Everyone stops and starts in the order in which they arrived, even if it was two seconds before the other bloke and can always be trusted. It would be hell in Australia!
Our biggest problem as mentioned by someone above is the dreadful highway design with very short on/off ramps coupled with idiots who do not know how to merge with a speeding line of traffic coupled with the idiots in the line who won't slide back a car length to let he mergers in.
Aggressive little girls seem to be major offenders.
