The main north-eastern line angles across the photo; the Albion - Broadmeadows freight railway comes up from the bottom, and joins at Jacana. Essendon Airport is just out of frame at the bottom.
The key feature is the light gash angling in the other direction: the easement for the future ring road. This was a Dec.1971 photo.

I know where I got the picture from and was going to share the video later as there are a few other trucks in the background. I narrowed it down to NSW but thought we might get close to the actual truck stop and whether it is still there.

I reckon you would be right especially the other side of the road with the trees and dams match.
I was always lead to believe it was the old truckstop at Helensburg NSW given most of the rest of the clip is filmed along the Princes Hwy around Loftus, Waterfall to Foxgrounds near Berry. The Iron Cove bridge at Drummoyne also features as he drives along Victoria rd passing the older 60's K100.
