Come-on Mate, there has never been a pub burned down anywhere in Australia! That should pin it down to the last 2,000 pubs.

"It is estimated between 2-3,000 pubs have been destroyed by fire since the late 1800's - many several times. Giving the benefit of the doubt to the candle or lantern in a room, a spark from a fireplace or kitchen oven and the ever present cigarette in bed there still remains pressing suspicion that the majority of these fires (particularly in larger establishments) were of a last resort financial nature"
