Identify this gearbox was created by Lang
For absolutely no other reason than I wanted it, I bought this cut-away gearbox. I also have absolutely no idea what I am going to do with it. The owner thought it might be an Austin 7 but it is not.
Markings: 7N-7006, 16N, 7.W, F5 in various places
If it is going to displace a pottery dog on the mantlepiece I should at least be able to tell her what it is.
Help me give it a name.

Looks like a torque tube goes on the back end, is it the same as Clarry's?

My first jaloppy was a 1938 Austin big 7.

Hang on a minute
The Austin was a 4 speed.....That is a 3 speed.
I shall now go for a Ford 10 CWT van .
The same box was used with 8 & 10 hp donks ( Anglia...Prefect & others.)

The Austin 7's had a three speed box for the first 10 years of production but completely different bell housing.
I thought some little 30's English Ford as well but everything I can find on Google is different. Most of the post-war tiddlers have extensions to bring the stick to the rear (Morris Minor etc)
It could be completely out of left field - something like a FIAT or Peugeot?

Calling Bugly. Do you need a spare air-cooled gearbox? Just looked at your Fordson restoration and it looks damn close to me!
