Hi Swishy
This one did not come to the UK (as far as I know)
I have No spec on it except :
IVECO 190-48 TurboStar
V8 - 17.1 litre, Twin Turbo, Intercooled - Fiat 8210-42S
476 HP @ 1800rpm
2050 Nm (1512 lb ft) of torques
Fuller RTO9513 (ZF optional)
Produced 1989-93
Air Suspension was option.
Also 3 axle prime mover/rigid . ( IVECO 240-48 )
I would have thought it had a fair amount of grunt
I never got to drive one but have seen a couple in Italy.
If any one has any more info, please bring it on.
Cheers

@ Swishy,
there is something in what you say - Europeans did not "discover" (or, more accurately, rediscover) big hp until the 1970s - and there are, in my opinion some explanations. First, you have to remember that conditions in Europe are very different from Oz and the US. Particularly before the European Union, distances were relatively short. Roads were better and levelled. So you did not need too much hp. Also fuel was always more expensive than in the US and downunder - again, favouring moderately sized units. There are also historic reasons. There were plans (and some units being tested) for high power diesels in Germany before WWII, to respond to the expected needs of a soon-to-be-huge third Reich. Around that time, the typical heavy German truck had engines of between 130 (B
