Does not look like any Ford, GM or International wartime Budd wheel (Different slots) that I can find. I have a set of these wheels behind my shed but no idea what they are off.

Here is an International Wheel (rounded triangle cutout) and a Ford (circular cutout) wheel from 30/40 era. Also a Dodge wheel (different circular cutout)

Axle and wheel is early 1960s F500 .......I d think the bus was originally a K5 Inter .........a pic of the front wheel and hub may ID it ,since the motor and gearbox are gone.

Gryphon said "I couldn't find a picture of the bus or even a bus in that colour or style of livery but I did find these fleet list for Pioneer Coaches, although their livery was mostly blue and red"

instead of Pioneer Coaches or Express, try Pioneer Bus Service, out of Ipswich, Queensland.

Following the trail of Pioneer Bus Services I ended up on this page, www.qocs.org.au/buses-of-ipswich-during-1950/ , which showed a vehicle with similar features that lead me to Watt Bros. as the potential builders, www.wbcw.com.au/aboutus.php . And some more pictures from the QOCS, www.qocs.org.au/watt-bros/

Getting close but no cigar for those Greyhounds.

Not Ford wheels. Every photo I can find from 30 to 70 Fords with 5 stud have round holes not the thin ones on the bus.

The wheels are welded ,not rivetted ....if I was shown just the wheel,I d guess IH A ......welded wheels seem to come in around 1962 in Oz .........the hub is not IH though ,and may be a small Rockwell ...........a look at the diff centre would indicate what it was..........If the bus is in SE Qld ,then Id guess a Watt Bros body......wood framed ,light steel sheeting.,all held together with wood screws. and carriage bolts ..........Charles Hope at Northgate was another Brisbane bus builder ......they also made fridges and other household metal goods.

The price is right, it's probably the last of its kind, it should be restored, but bloody hell you would need some time on your hands hopefully someone takes it on, and it does not go to scrap

Kirklands White with an MBA body 1947
kirklandshistory.blogspot.com/2012/04/the-kirklands-story.html

This sort of has the A pillar window and gutter....  however the windscreen is different. The roof has the high crown. I think the wheels are spiders, but it looks like all/most  kirklands had spiders

If you scroll through the history, you come to this:
