Swishy,

Good work with the list. There was a 32V-71 in the product lineup in 1958. 1650hp @2100. Id guess it was a twin power made up of V16's as with the 24.
There have been many claims of inline 6-53's and 6-92's, 5 cylinder 53's and sorts of other stuff but I have never seen anyone prove it with pictures or info so I will stick with actuals.
Im quiet happy to be corrected here.
Bundy for you.

Hi Barry, in my limited Detroit experience and alcohol dimmed brain, how were the bigger 12V /16V etc. engine blocks put together? Were they dowelled/ bolted together,or by other means?

Harleigh,

Ive only ever seen one 24V-71 made up of 2 x 12's coupled together real close. Blocks wernt joined.
Had two starters, one left one right on the aft engine.
I would imagine the 32V-71 would have been the same from two 16's.
I wasnt as interested in them back them as I am now and I wish now I had payed more attention to it. I suppose its the old thing, when you work on them every day your sick of the sight of them.
It sang a real sweet song though.
