I think Barry might as I'm stealing them from his stash.
Swish, where did you find this AEC? I am amazed to see another export-model Mammoth Mk III. Can I please send this on to Neil Fraser as I did with the cab pic?
Other than the ex-Whitworth AEC, there's another single drive up in Darwin somewhere. Quite a number of single drive tippers were used in a coal mine in Vic or NSW - can't remember where - as per an old story in the AEC Gazette many years ago. I will ask Neil if he has the article handy as I've no idea where mine is.

Just a Mammoth, Pete.
Speaking to Neil Fraser, it would appear that this truck might have been one of the tippers in the AEC Gazette article. Hmm, would like to return her to tipper config if that's what she was.

Interesting that information you put in about the Knox being the worlds pioneer of the articulated truck. But I guess nearly every company claims that type of thing.
In a book by Alan Townsin on Thornycroft. It has a picture of an articulated truck claimed to be "the world's first" built in 1898.
Would this be the earliest articulated truck? Which is the earliest articulated truck?

Knox Martin is universally regarded as the world's pioneer of the articulated truck. As the Knox Automotive Co. it produced a variety of light and medium trucks from its formation in 1901 through to 1908.
