Now that photo proves that he sure doesn't appreciate the gear that he's been given to drive, hey. Fancy trying to grab gears going up a slope like that, with that for a load. The normal thing to do is if your caught out, is go for the gears early and take big bites at them, so that just don't happen. The simplest thing to do, is to get it into grandma down the bottom, it looks like it's such a short pull to go over anyway.
Been caught out, like in that predicament a couple of times, so, reverse WAS the only option, before attacking it again in bog cog.
Just hope that prime mover is his, then, he would have to pay for the repairs to it.

"It was a fully rigged 475 Komatsu and was getting moved around a freeway const site.It wasnt his trailer as the first truck came to grief pulling up that rise by snapping an axle.He was asked to hook up to the trailer and finish the move.It was about 1995 when this pic was taken and was his first Cat powered KW(prior to this he had GM)and was a whopping 475 HP.The wheel was off the ground for all the run up the rise and it was steeper than it looks."
me thinks he didn't have the dolly under rig n 5th wheel a little tooo far back n much daylight underfront wheel

You'd understand the term "running hot" wouldn't you Swish? We use Col Taylor every now and then. He knows what it means.........

Here's an awesome Kenworth:
What is it, you might ask??? It is the tyre-shredder named the Bandag Bullet and I took that photo at the ARTA's Trucks Out West at the Dubbo Showground last year - where they held demonstrations of the sheer power of this truck!!
You can only just see it in all that Bandag smoke - four perfectly good retreads not worth much after 4 or 5 laps!
Here's the Bandag Bullet's mechanical specifications:
Basic Truck: Kenworth T400
Engine: Detroit Diesel with two V8 92
