It looks like a Tatra but it's one of Nicholas Straussler's creations - whether on his own or as a part of his partnership with Alvis I cannot recall. Straussler was a Hungarian who emigrated to the UK and was obviously exposed to the ideas of Hans Ledwinka, Tatra's chief engineer, on swing axles etc. Later in the 1930s he developed some armoured cars but is mostly known for the Straussler bomb trolley. See more here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicholas_Straussler

Here's another pic of the "thing":

Hi Tatra

Well done mate, the drinks are on you then !!

Its a Straussler 3700 Gallon tanker, 15 tonner.
Built in 1936, in London UK.
Bodywork by Thompson Bros.
Driven by a Straussler 7.2 L V8. 150hp @2800.
IT IS DRIVEN BY THE FRONT 2 STEERING AXLES !!
Each wheel is independently mounted, on this technically stunning machine.
It had 6 Gear levers and did 40mph flat out.
A beast, it certainly was. :)

Cheers
