Wish we could use something like that.
But in January they're doing away with rego labels altogether in NSW.
Cheers Bruce.

With the number plate recognition cameras setup these days the fuzz probably just check the number plate whilst on the prowl. Probably saves the departments a few dollars each year. But that will probably go into consolidated revenue also. cheers Tim >
Probably going sideways here, but as far as I'm concerned, those number plate recognition cameras are a good bloody thing.
They are removing from the road, the @r$eholes who have been cheating the system for decades.
If you've ever been in an accident with one of these @r$#oles, and you've had to pay all the extra dollars to get your vehicle fixed, while these jerks just laugh at you.
Then the 'fuzz' can do no wrong in my eyes, they can just go get lot's more of them, anytime, anywhere.

South Australia lost it's rego stickers a while ago. Beside the police cars having plate recognition systems, the truck monitoring cameras (those on big archways over highways) also pick up non-rego vehicles, and probably other stuff as well.
on most major highways in nsw and victoria they seem to have put up dozens of those overhead cameras
