This is a brilliant idea and works really well on the modern forums only one problem is you must log in to get this feature but we had been talking about that before the other thread was locked.

Ps looks like I got censored this morning.

I believe the other thread was locked as the moderators respected the integrity of the conversation but someone else didn't and tried to turn it into a mud-slinging exercise similar to what people were complaining about in the sales area so it was locked to prevent its degeneration.

It is one of the fine lines of being a moderator and whatever answer a moderator comes up with it's always wrong according to someone even if they never saw what took place! :-[

Ok some news on the resource limit reached issue.

Gryphon has done some investigation and found that the forum is being attacked, effectively by viruses trying to exploit the YaBB software.

When this happens all the processing power of the computer gets used up as our software fends off the attack. When it happens the HCVC website and other sites on the same server have issues as well.

The solution is to move off this software to a new system then shut this software down.

When we migrate the forum to the new software we intend to take user details so people can log into the new forum and the posts so that the depth of knowledge this forum contains is not lost. Private Messages will not be converted.

I will leave the rest of the information for the new forum thread. Please note the research into this problem has been ongoing since the forum was moved last may.

The timing of the finding is purely coincidental to the other discussions taking place at the moment but it does impact our move to a new forum option as leaving this running to keep the history is no longer viable.

Hi Bruce .. the "fan motor" in my computer works flat out on occasion, and i've often wondered what the hell all that's about ??...

...it's going hard now and there is not much happening on the forum ATM...is this the attack you mentioned being staved off ?...if not why is the bloody thing working so hard?...cheers mate

Wheels are in motion. I can't give dates yet as a couple of decisions have to be made by other people. I hope to have some within a week to 10 days

I am meant to be at Riverboats Music Festival this weekend. While trying to listen to bands last night I received 4 phone calls about the forum. So much for having a life outside this forum!

Dave , I have just scrolled though 70 pages of Members,And found 3 Admins , Andy Wright , Has not been on line for over 6 months .
