Another great idea swishy.

But we are restricted in what is provided by the forum software.

There are some updates for the software to be done. But last time it took a couple of hours backing up, testing and putting on the updates. Currently very busy with work. Hope to get chance in the new year. But not sure if this facility will be in the new version.

No worries Swishy always happy to hear all good suggestions. And if possible will implement.

I do know that the guys that wrote the forum software have started on a version which runs on a proper database back end so many more options will be possible when this comes out. (Currently it is all stored in special files on the server)

The question of course will be retaining the current data.

What about the possibility of inserting optional choices into the current setup?

Can you insert a choice of 10, or 20, or 50 "recent posts" in the current "most recent posts" section?

You already made that suggestion and the answer remains. The current software that runs the forum doesn't provide for it.

The number returned I might be able to increase from the current 10. But will have to modify the source code. Which I don't have time for at the moment.

For now if you click on the recent post list you can change the 10 to another number in the address bar at the top.

Alternatively each folder shows where new posts have occured.

If you are worried that some one has posted something refering to your name you could always use the search facility also. Clicking on the search button on the menu will also allow you to restrict the number returned and restrict to how recent.

I know I am new here (so be nice), but my eyes are not what they use to be. Most of the site is readable quite well but one of the thread background colours (the darker) of the 2 shades used makes it a little difficult to read the text as the text is also lighter... can I suggest a lighter alternative background - or white even with at least a #333 text colour or darker
