Swishy asked if this could be done back on 16/9/09 as there is still a lot of people with this not filled in can it be made compulsory to at least fill in the State they are from it would make it a lot easier for everyone.

mandatory location field would give us an idea of who we might be talking to and save repeating the Q - where are you?

Re: People's locations, why not just add the letters of their state after their username, ie: XXXXXXX. [NSW] or if you like, put your real name and state at the end of your post, makes it a lot friendlier to me!

Hey Mate.
My eyes are a bit the same --there`s a couple of quick and dirty fixes in the meantime if this has not changed yet.

One : hold CTRL key and hit + key together will magnify he whole screen in increments once for each click of the + key. Same technique but use the minus key will shrink the screen if you click + too many times.
Take it slow eh .
Two : Left mouse hold down and drag over the whole message will give a dark background #0000ff with white #ffffff text.
Three : Seems you can do the same over the whole board and it highlighted it

May not be all the answer you want but "quick and dirty" for the time.
Dunno about the different board skins if the exist as I haven't looked but some times that helps with more hard or easier text colors on different backgrounds.
Is why all my desktop screens are are set to a shade just off pure black [000000].

As yet I haven't found a way other than in the browser settings to get larger text on screen or alter and set the default settings and make them stick----probably can`t do that on the BB anyway it`s not an like an E:Mail client.
Hope this helps you some --- I am new to BB`s too but not as much so to computers.

Sounds good in theory Tony until you realize as I did :'( , you say some thing stupid or before you realize what its all about and bingo .
Everyone in the world knows who you are including the ones you may not want to know and you will have all hel$ game undoing it.
Some one quotes you and sees all your details in their quote link as they compose their reply, scheesch --not good.

Be aware you are bringing up some very old posts.

Certainly need to be aware of where people are from. The best place is in the profile details. I don't recommend putting your real name in a post for privacy reasons but it is up to the individual to decide.

But City or suburb and State in the location area of the profile would be great assistance.

As many quetions on this forum are for looking for parts, suppliers or even rules/regulations information. These can only be answered if the location is known. No point someone from Qld asking for information and being provided with the correct answer for Vic as may not apply to Qld. Same with parts no point telling a guy in Geelong Vic that you can purchase something in WA when in actuallity it can also be picked up next door in Geelong also!

Hence the request for the location to be filled in.
