Can we have a Discussion About the forum .

Jarrod ,Could I ask What the upgrade Will Do for the Forum .Is it going to be the Yabb 2.6 .
What, if any new features will it bring ?
This is the only forum I visit that uses YABB .Is there some where we could see the new setup to see what to expect .

Yeah Swishy, the problem is that you find the pic your looking for but when you click on the link, it redirects to this forum where you get the message saying the picture has been moved or deleted.

Assessor's S2 tipper build is a good example of this....

Good constructive thread i recon.

Im not a financial member of the club any more, I was, went to as many meetings as possible given i work a rotating shift (and only two fellas spoke to me, Ray N hot rod donny) and assisted at the 2012 display day, covered "shifts" in the tent as others rostered didnt turn up and as a result missed the forum Photo.

I gotta say, that got up my nose! I felt that new members where not welcome, and it was a clikky group.

I love old gear, try real hard to be involved, but in the end took a step back.

This forum has always made me feel welcome, ive copped a bit of flack on my engineering expertise, but took it in as good banter
A change of roster soon may see me back at the club rooms.

This forum isnt broken, but a polish to see it in its best light may be needed from time to time. (as has been done before)

I do check in often, post my stuff i think might interest, comment in a positive way on stuff, and try to keep upbeat.

Haven't seen that name for a while, welcome back and pleased to hear your comments about Club Membership.

We would love to show you the new version but the administrators have not been given access to the new servers so can not install it to show you.

The difference between an administrator and a moderator is an administrator had access to the server to resolve technical issues as an addition to the moderator responsibilities (to keep you all nice etc - but people have been behaving recently).

At the moment the most likely option is a YABB upgrade so we don't lose the information this forum holds. That is a valuable resource. If we can find something better that will migrate this information we will consider that quite happily.

We don't want 2 forums as that doubles the workload on the administrators and moderators and makes it harder for forum members to find something (was it on the new forum or the old one?). Also if someone wants to add new information to an old topic they can't do it easily as they don't know whether to add it to the old or start a new topic in the new version.

We are aware of people's different skill levels so want to keep it easy for our forum members.

When we started this we thought we would get about 50 people total and 10 regulars as people didn't understand what a forum is and its benefits to the club and the movement (some still don't). It has grown bigger than we ever dreamed of.
