Just leave it there and "edit" the message, or post a new one.

G'day Roy
There is only a certain time period after you make a post where you can Modify or Delete it.

If you have a look over on the right hand side of a post you made today, you will see modify and remove.
You can click there to alter or remove the post you are looking at.
You can only modify or delete a post made by yourself.

You are better to make an additional post in the thread you started and then state the item is now sold..
or similar..

hope that makes sense

Unfortunately you can only modify your post within the first day or so and can only delete your own post within a couple of days.

While any of the forum admins or moderators can delete or modify any post at any time. We prefer not to do this unless absolutely necessary. As it can cause issues for the forum.

My suggestion especially in the case of items for sale is just put a final post indicating that the item is sold. Especially useful as it closes off the post and let's people know it has sold. Instead of just disappearing. And you can thank people for the interest etc.
