Chrome Rims was created by GM Diesel
Howdy All,

Does anyone know where and if you can get 22.5 steer rims with the mount side chromed.
Ive seen the super single and offset ones chromed but havent been able to find and normal rims chromed.
Calleja Transports B61 Mack has them but maybe they had them done.

Our Mack CH came with the outside rims chromed
we have problems of these rims cracking n tyres slowly go n down
(May Chroming process weakens the steel )( But hoo nose)

as far as me nose when they chrome the rims they do the hole lot
also I have seen wot looks like chrome inserts th@ u push in on the assembled outer duel
in the back section of Deals on Wheels under - Parts trader

Thanks Swish, I 'll give em a ring.
Ive been told you cant em but ive seen them done so someone must know where I can get them or atleast someone that will do them for me.
Back ones are no problem off the shelf.

Just be carefull with getting rims chromed as it can cause stress fractures in the rims and they can crack it is not recomended to have rims chrome plated.

If I recall correctly - ALBURY CHROME PLATERS , or a name similar to that , did specialize in supplying chrome plated spider rims to the transport industry some years ago . Cheers from Clarke . :D

Hi all, years ago I was told that chrome plating steel does weaken steel by causing something called " hydrogen embrittlement". Sounds impressive, but I was thinking of chroming some suspension parts on my car and that was the reason I was told why I shouldn't do it.

Hi chromers the price for chroming told me its not suitable,cheaper to buy them new in chrome,i two pact mine in white,come up good :)

From Memory,new 8' chrome rims on the drive of my Road Boss where about $220 each.they are only polished on the bit that shows when you put them on the drive or trailer,not the steer,so no good for steer rims if you want them s**t hot and shiny.
