Vintage commercial truck insurance.... was created by Laubsteven
Hi all,
I'm finding it hard to get a quote for insurance on a bedford tj.
Gio and all the big names won't do it because its a classic vehicle, but Shannon's won't do it because ill be using it commercially for business.
Who does everyone use to insure their classic trucks for daily driving????
Thanks in advance
Steve

I'd talk to an insurance broker, and try and get a package for ALL your business insurance with the one company.

good luck with that I have taken my D series tilt tray off the road for the same reason and I could not get even private use insurance unless I club plate it which wont suit me, I had one quote for $1500 !! just for 3rd party, the rest wont do it because the vehicle is not on there list?

You could try Lumley special vehicles, they do classic cars and may do trucks. They even do parked up or laid up cover for while you are restoring the vehicle. I shopped them against shannons a few years back and they came up cheaper.

Best of luck with Lumleys as far as I know they are not insuring commercial vehicles anymore. They came out to the club and gave a spiel which made quite a few move across from Shannons, unfortunately this only lasted a couple of years and when renewals came around it was bad news. I tried to get a quote for all our vehicles with them, but when I mentioned that I had a bus converted to a motorhome they didn't want to know me, so I stuck with Shannons.

I actually gound a good price from nrma. They were the only insurer who would insure an older truck as a daily driver. I think they quoted me just under 600 for full comprehensive
