Inter Manifold Gasket

Would anyone know where to get a Silver diamond/black diamond manifold gasket. I have sent central coast truck parts an email, but no reply yet.

I know our AB is slightly later witht he gold diamond engine, but I was surprised recently after calling our local Iveco parts man. They could identify and source the manifold gasket, would take about a week for delivery and the price was $25-$30. The more impressive fact was that their parts data base part number exactly matched the 1962 parts manual, part number!

I would give Iveco a try.

In the end I couldn't wait and made one from gasket sheet that I got from SuperCheap. This one cost about $10 and was back on the engine within an hour...

Thanks for that. this is a thick copper gasket. Does the gasket material you bought stand the pressure and heat?

The gasket material has stood up so far having done 3-400 miles.

The material was specifically for exhaust gaskets and has a perforated sheet metal centre with fibrous material facing on both sites. The fibre material seems to take an amount of crush during tightening, with the steel core keeping it all together. I was able to use hole saws for the larger holes and wad-punch and straight chisel for the rest.

You can glue it on with the copper silicon,

I had problems the gasket burning on my 282,

If do need to glue it, the glue will only work if the manifold has been machined both the inlet and exhaust bolted together,

Have done over 1000 miles and no leaks

weld that manifold to the block LOL
