i haven't found found a 292 chev yet. were are they hiding

There's a guy in Yennora Sydney, Chevy Parts advertises in just parts and cars he sometime has 292's

I think you'll be hard pressed to find One John.
There were never many of those Chevs In Australia in the first place. (Though you do see the odd one on Ebay from time to time.)
you'd probably have to buy the whole truck to get your Chev Motor though..

And any Bedford engine gearbox or diff centre of that era has been shipped off to either Pakistan or Bangladesh. where the venerable Bedfords are still earning there keep. Couple of wrecking yards I know used to send Bedford bits over there by the container load,on a semi regular basis..
