Does anyone know a supplier, either here or overseas, for the solid steel rivets used in Kenworth cabs?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks mate, but I'm looking for the solid rivets that are fitted with an air hammer and bucking bar.

DD, try some Truck Smash Repairers,They'd be doing It all the time, I'd imagine.
Not too sure who does It up in your neck of the Woods though..

Yep, I've tried several truck smash repairers and apparently, they use a Huck rivet which is like a structural pop rivet, which would work but I'm trying to stay original.

I'm seriously thinking about making my own if I can't find some. The problem in encountering is the original rivets have quite a large head to shank ratio and the modern stuff does not come close. From what I've read, the manufacturing standards changed in the late 50's/early 60's and I'm wondering if Kenworth got a good deal on obsolete rivets.

Have a chat to OVESCO parts.
(their family also used to have a heavy vehicle smash repair shop for years)

Hi DD,
I think they were called Boustead or Boustead Wood or Boustead Fasteners, in Salisbury Brisbane. Many years ago they had the solid and huck rivets.

Any bolts and fasteners suppliers may have them. Try Bolts and Engineering also in Salisbury. Don't Kenworth - Brown & Hurley - have them?

Do you realise they are a pain to use. You need the correct shape punch & dolly, 2 people, lots of heat and then accessability may be difficult. I opted for the huck rivets. :(

Good luck, Tony

Aerobolt is the place, Rokwiz put a link up. They also hire the guns out. They're in Sydney but may have a contact down your way. We rebuilt a KW cab after a rollover and we were referred to them, they had all sorts of rivets there but we got the factory style ones, they were spot on

Some play hard to get
