Volvo F7 head

Hi one & all

Volvo F7, engine TD70G

Does anyone know where I can get a cylinder head for this beast, without costing me more than the value of the truck itself? Best if close to Brisbane as freight is always a killer.

Any info appreciated with thanks.

Try Whites diesel sandgate for 2nd hand, Multispares may have new cores or your friendly Volvo dealer can sell you a head from VMR parts (Volvo recycling arm)

Thanks for the info Merc. VMR is pretty good but rarely has anything I need (probably trying to steer me to Volvo genuine new). I didn't try the others as I changed direction. See below.

It wasn't the head after all. It was a tiny hole in 1 cylinder liner. We DID look but, it is so small, that we could not see it. :huh:

:ohmy: If anyone is interested, if we removed the liners and checked it out more closely, we still could not have seen it. Only a pressure test could have proved it 'holey'. I made up a 'gizmo' and was able to pressure test each liner without removing it. The result was startling. Cyl 1 inlet valve has a small leak, cyl 6 exhaust valve - bigger leak. Note that valves were done as head recond recently. Cyl 4 liner has a big leak. We pulled it out but cannot see the pinhole.

Now need lots of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ for 6 piston / liner kits.
