Bosch VE injection pump or parts

G'day blokes,

My turbo 6354 Perkins was leaking some fuel and oil so I've got the pump & injectors out for service.

Now the injection people have the pump they've found six broken springs just for starters. Apparently they're now "looking overseas" for parts (that they thought were available before stripping it) to rebuild the pump.

Anyone know of a source of parts/pumps for a Bosch VE series? 0 460 426 022 is the number...

Cheers

for when I'm not driving the car of the century...

My two cents worth.......fuel pump jockeys......yeah ,we can fix the pump......uh oh......we need to send to Mars for parts=======rip off alert.....some of these b s are very cunning.........actually ,all of them are......and charge the same rates as brain surgeons.............how come the pump has been working ok if all the springs are broke.........and i can guarantee any used parts you supply will be ........worn out, wrong model, out of spec............"We ve got our reputation to uphold"......yeah right.

Not all injection places rip people off. I did a job on a boat, where the only complaint was the engine wouldn't reach full speed. When they pulled the pump down, they found it had swallowed a bit of water and had cracked a heap of parts and busted the timing advance piston, which is why it wouldn't rev out. They said new parts were hard to get and expensive, so they were looking for another parts pump. They found a similar pump at a marine wrecker, and made one good one out of two. They also gave me full warranty of the job, and a bag of busted parts to show the owner. All up, it cost $2300. It was a specialty VE pump for marine applications, which was why bits were hard to get. It turns out, the boat had a crack in the hull, which was leaking seawater into the diesel tank.

IE, if you can have a look at a VE model numbering chart, you should be able find the numbers of a few different pumps in the same series as yours, and find out the application they are listed for, which will give you somewhere to look. There is one on the web somewhere, which I used to look for mine.
