Hi, I am new to the Forum, just starting on a restoration of a 1973 Transtar 4070. Looking for original bumper bar, front grille panels, fuel tanks, air cleaner cover. Thanks.

Welcome partsman, good luck with your resto. There are some gurus here with advice ideas and contacts. The rest of us just like to share your porn, truck porn. And would greatly appreciate some pictures of your project and progress.

Cheers.

ihc partsman, Welcome to the Forum.
I know nothing about Transtars, a bit modern for me but there are members here who know and I am sure will help you.

Tell us what area you are in, incase somebody has parts or clues for you.

Morris.

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

Thanks for the welcome, I am a Queenslander, I am in Brisbane metro area. This old girl was sold new out of Rocklea, originally white. was driven a few years back, but has since gone tight from sitting too long. the dealer where I worked sold quite a few of the 4070's and also the Transtar 400's and F1800D's

You Bet, one was sold to a local saw milling company with the six speed Allison Auto and had a four speed air shift joey box retrofitted. The driver was close to retirement and could not manage the standard RTO913 Roadranger .It was used to haul logs from the bush to the sawmill,Unfortunately, on a few occasions, on a heavy pull, the auto would miss-shift and the engine would over rev to disembowel the lower half of some cylinder liners. It turned out to be an expensive truck to own.
