i never new that diesel was sold i different grades!
thanks for all that info.
lister would have been some of the first diesel stationary motors over here. when did they come out? late 50's or before. most old sheds you see had the petrol lister in them.

Wombat - The first Lister diesel was the Model JP, introduced around late 1929 or early 1930. This was followed almost immediately (1930) by the Model CS, which was a Lister petrol engine (Model L) converted to diesel. It was Listers most successful engine, and was produced from 1930 to 1987!

hi, there was an article in Heritage Commercials mag, a while back listing all fuel prices pre war.

hi, i noted you asked when diesel came into use,
in WW1 they had Diesel tractors, engines first 1893.ask MAN Germany for more info, trains 1912, autos 1909.
