Been a while Swish. Report from westie is that he has been plugging along with it but the job has got bigger than Ben Hur. It was thought that all the rust scale had been removed from the water jacket but on further treatments the outside skin was getting thinner and thinner and now sections have been cut out for new bits to be let in. Knowing this it is obvious that metal stitching would have been difficult to get a seal and then other parts might have started to weep over time.
Watch this space (but don't stop blinking)
