Milk trucks (Vic.)

Here are two which do not show the cab/engine end.
They were taken during boyhood holidays to dairying relatives in south Gippsland. This was still the era of delivery in churns, but about the tail end: bulk was coming in.
The older is at Korumburra butter factory, ~1960-61
The newer is on one of the farms, probably Longwarry, ~1961-62.

G'day Roderick, both those buildings at the Korumburra factory are now gone. The site is now home to Burra Foods Australia who are currently building a new plant to make infant formula I think. They also built a powder drying plant 2 or 3 years ago.
In 2000 Burra Foods had a book written by Jacqui Granger to celebrate 100 years of dairy processing at Korumburra called "Mud'n Money" and there are a lot of similar photo's.
My family handled all their farm milk collection from when they started at Korumburra until 2004 when we sold the job to Peter Stoitse Transport. Debo.

There were a few old milk factories around when I was a kid, dad drover for Milk Transport Consolidated after he left the Longwarry Milk Factory, we used to pick up cans around Lang Lang the normal Friday night was to go with dad in the ZD Leyland with the push out front windows do the pick up then head up to Model Dairy in Burke rd Kew, on a hot night dad would open his doo while driving up Burke rd as the cab got hot, that was a god old truck till a driver named Ivan drove it into a dam out th back of Pakenham.

Hi all, this is our 1948 FT102N Albion Clydesdale which was a milk truck owned by South Gippsland Milk Industries, Leongatha/Korumburra
It's under restoration at present and hopefully will bring it down to Sanddown one year
Understand it was a semi by the short wheelbase but woul like to know more about it and maybe other photos of it working.

Very nice Sunshine :)
Last time I saw that truck it was out the back of the Woods & Reeves workshop in Traralgon (assuming its the same truck)
Good to see it's looked after :)
