Old Albury truckies
That photo in reply #14 what looks to me like a D series Ford waiting for the punt, where was that taken? It seems familiar, just can't put a location on it.
Cheers, Dave 64

I have posted links to HCVC (the punt and two railway-station views) to various Murray, ferry and railway groups, but haven't reposted the photos as such. Were the two station ones home base Tallangatta? Enclosed is a Smithclean of the second-worst photo of the set: more interesting than the worst. I cleaned the dust and removed the excess green. Unfortunately, scanners tend to exaggerate original texture to look like faults; I have removed some, but have left some of the black marks on the bales, and the flash of white behind the leading wheel. Am I approved to post the ferry & railway trio to the various specialist groups, credited to 'Peat' via HCVC?

Great photos 'Peat', and a great part of Victoria. I have explored by train when they ran to Cudgewa, and by car when skiing at Thredbo and when chasing Murray engineering (weirs, punts and bridges), and even by boat: I have crossed the path of the Wymah punt.

No problems Roderick, please feel free to use the Photos. The first photo with the Commer tipper is at Huon and the second (stock truck next to train) looks like Tallangatta going by the hill in the background. Photos would have been taken between 1968 and 1975.
The truck at the Punt is the Whyma Ferry again taken before 1975.
The picture cleaned up look awesome....thank you. Please repost what you like.

Not sure if Toby is still around.....I know he did live out of Tallangatta near the Sand Creek Rail Bridge. My dad passed away in 2007 so I haven't had much to do with the goings on of Tallangatta...There is a FB page called History of Tallangatta & District....might be worth an ask on that....
Peat....Interesting photos around Tallangatta.
