In finding the original, I have seen lots of other photos worth improving, but the Photobucket watermark prevents doing anything useful.

I just couldn't let the poor battered print look so forlorn. It must have been carried in a glovebox. The original photo was taken in ok light, but the print has had the emulsion peel (probably heat), it has been cracked and scratched and stained, and then overlay that with scanner faults (scanners tend to exaggerate existing faults). I had an easy run last night with the similar-standard family-album scans, so I set out on this one.
I've replaced the first version with the full-size one, with no further work needed.
