I think the British Airways vans started life as Dodge's
What we call Dodge D3F, not sure what they were in the UK.
What do you think Roderick.
Loosley. :) ;)

We had them badged as 'Dodge Commando' and 'Commer Commando'. Some even had the Renault logo also, i.e 'Renault Dodge Commando' !

Cheers
RS :)

Of course, the Rootes truck division was Commer.
I haven't found the model used by BA, but an earlier Commando was the basis of a prolific airport bus, and a popular prototype for diecast models. There are many references by googling. Here is just one:

This was part of a grand tour: fly to Brisbane, train to Cairns and Ravenshoe, fly to Normanton, train to Croydon & back, fly via Groote Eylandt & Gove to Darwin, then train & bus to Alice Springs and train home. The price then was equivalent to $2000 today, and I have never regretted a dollar: there was so much which has changed since then, either modernised or unrepeatable.
