How good is that bag elevator. I passed up the chance to own the one left behind at the Shelbourne silo (no motor): just too narrow to load hay bales into the shed and too intricate the try and spread. All riveted, no welds, and few bolts..... and no divorce either.

I think the crane is a Harman 25E,I have seen other pics of this crane ,possibly on the same job.If its a railbridge , crane probably owned by VGR.After the war Harman had a deal with Ruston making Ruston sales agents for Harman cranes. All the Vic Gov crawler cranes of the time came from Harman via RB.There was a state law forcing the state to buy local made.

Thanks for those Puffing Billy ones. An NA was floated through the city, in steam, for the 1958 Moomba parade (I have my father's photo somewhere, and also ones in magazines). One was taken to Walhalla to mark the centenary of that line (I have my own photos on the line, but not on the truck). The other truckings have been from parks (Portsea and Beaumaris) to Belgrave for restoration (I was at Beaumaris, but without a camera). Normally a smaller loco (the Peckett) is sent as a greeting card to ceremonies. It was trucked to Coal Creek for the opening of the railway there (since regauged), and was at a Moe ceremony, staying on the lowloader. IIRC the trailer is CRT (Colin Rees), probably the prime mover too. He owns the smaller locos. Beamish would be needed only for the NA locos.
Today: 171020F Melbourne 'Herald Sun' - Walter Hoysted's antiwhipping van (Morris LD5). This was ~40 years ago.

Wonder there was not a "Stop Flogging" van outside my high school. Then again you would have needed a semi to carry the number of names flogged by a sadistic deputy head. Bastard would be in jail today.
