When did steering shift from centre to left or right?
This has been a most interesting find and discussion. Unfortunately, I don't have another lying in wait.

Hi,

this image appeared in an article I was reading on Moonshine so it would be an American native.

I can not remember if I posted this of my 1968 Perkins Commer taken about 1983 with the 1 1/2 ton Chevrolet I drove back from Bowen to Brisbane. Something a bit different. I think it was a fuel tanker in its early days. If I had it now I would not need the Mack Midliner. Still got its former owners name on it after I bought it in Albury and brought it home.

Wonder if it survived?

No power steering. Looking back I don't think it was any more difficult than a normal single front axle. I am sure it would have been a bit of exercise backing and filling on around the town deliveries when it was a tanker filling service stations.

Blew a hole in a piston on the way back from Albury. My mate and I spent two days camped beside the road halfway between Goondiwindi and Warwick putting a new set of pistons in the Perkins. We had it for another 100,000 km without missing a beat.
