Old trucks

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,
Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

I lived in the southern suburbs of Melbourne from 1968 to 2002. I had a circa 1949 Thornycroft Nippy for many years until recently. It had a heavy riveted water tank with C C C painted on the sides. The first time I displayed it, a former employee of Caulfield City Council (CCC) told me they took the tank off an old horse-drawn wagon. The wagon and then the Nippy were used for street and tree watering.
