I'd rather have tools that I don't need, than not have the tools I do need.

Inter C series, 1934 to 1936. The text says 4 to 5 ton but the axles look much heavier than that. They were available from 3/4 ton C1 to 15 ton C60 with tandem drive. Would have been a cool streamlined semi in its day.

Often notice on quite a few of these European conventional trucks, the what appears to be abnomal set back of the front axles. Must have taken a bit of getting used to, probably handy when trying to manouver around tight city streets, may also have had something to do with weights over the front? Reckon I’d need a couple of those “flagpoles” they used to weld to the outsides of the bumper bars, don’t see them much anymore. Drove a Bedford bus once, twin steer, single drive, that was a handful until became familiar with it

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,
Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

The Thornycroft Nippy of about 1949 that I sold last year had a long front overhang. The bellhousing was over the front axle.
The twin-steer Bedford would have been a VAM model.
