Hey Roland, a tip with the air wipers.
The muffler/breather on them blocks up with crap especially if there has been oil in the air system.
Try taking that off first.
Without it, the wipers are way too fast.

84 Austral Tourmaster with 6V92 and now 7 speed Eaton-Fuller, converted to motorhome "Vanishing Point" after a favourite American movie.
3 Kw solar 800 Ah Lithium house battery pack, all engine cooling done by the sun. Water injection for hot days and hill climbs.

Me too, really enjoyed
One of these days I will lay down some of the adventures in VP so far, but I don't think I can top this tale.

One of you guys asked how many times I reused the duct tape to hold the tool box shut. I used the same piece all the way home
I've since retired the tape
Also, just wanted to thank you all for your kind words and encouragement. It means a lot to me.

Hi Maxidyne, I really enjoyed reading about your journey across the Nulla. I'm looking to do similar in a Mack 320 Cool Power. Can you tell me how many litres of diesel per one hundred kilometres you used? I'm just trying to calculate what the cost would be to drive her back to Melbourne. I'm not sure of the diff ratio's just yet.
Regards,
Andrew

Sorry Maxidyne, I just re-read your story and noted you were getting around 30 litres per 100 kilometres. As I'm reading about your journey I'm making notes on what I should have on board. Tyre gauge, hi-vis etc....

It's taken me six months of being on this forum to find my way over to the historic truck chat and what a brilliant read.
Glad I was able to read it from start to finish without the one week lay off after hitting the kangaroo  the comments made by some of you had me chuckling away happily - it must have been frustrating for you all.
Living in Crystal Brook, I missed you coming through, but them's the breaks.
Good luck, I and no doubt many others look forward to a picture of it with the Mazda loaded.
