I'mm inclined to think that that Story is a "truck stop Myth"

The exhaust blokes use silicon on manifolds and even exhaust flanges. Apparently the plastic carrier burns off and leaves basically a glass-like seal. No more muffler putty.

My exhaust man tried to sell me a tube of "Special Exhaust Silicon" at double the price but relented and pointed to one of his boys squeezing a tube of Bunnings cheapest brand onto a manifold saying it worked exactly the same.

Was it Cos and Dominic? i thought Refrigerated Roadways started with Roccisano s .I knew the guys from Roadways,Alan G was Bobby Addisons step son.Massive stroke of luck selling out to TNT the week before the Dutch crowd got controll.The business was a one way street,cut rates not covering costs.Lots of unhappy farmers when it closed,their rates doubled with TNT.Three very happy guys walked out with millions.
