Greetings. The first pic Of the Kenworth I have down as a firm called Simon Pty Ltd- I suspect it was a 12V71. Next pic was taken at Yass of 2 Whites of C Doon & Son from Tumut I think. The Atkinson belonged to Ray Broadbent and the Scania 80 was a L G Drake & Sons. The final pic has a Tony Lane Scania 110, Guy's Transport Kenworth, the 1418 and A J Clayton Kenworth. Some of my black and whites have stood the test of time quite well and others have degraded somewhat and quite a few are just not worth posting. I had the enthusiasm to take the photos but my skill set needed improving. But all good and I'll have a browse through the memories and select some more for the next upload. Next time.

That MAN is a bit special, I drove a single drive one my brother owned for a while, not a bad ride, 12 spd ZF column shift I think. Not too many of them about back in their day, probably all gone to China now.

Greetings. The Deutz was taken in '72. You'd have to have some faith running an air cooled truck during summer here in Australia. The M A N I have down as a 7215FCS so I guess it has a lazy or pusher axle and I'm pretty sure all those models had the pogo stick gear stick. The 4564TDB was a Robinvale- Sydney Transport group taken in Nuriootpa outside what was then the Barossa Gem Centre. David Linke's merc was taken at the post office corner- that's the Vine Inn in the back ground. The 2 Macks were taken at Mt Lambie on one of my trips to Sydney during school holidays. The 2 S models were Synan Transport taken in Liverpool. Next time.

Never heard of the air cooled Deutz over heating. However wise ones let them cool slowly after a big pool eg check the ropes while engine idling at the top of The Gap on the New England. Those in a rush would often end up cracking the heads.
