Here is an article by Ron Moon about Michael Terry. Unknown to many but a bloke who opened up as much of Australia as Francis` Birtles or Len Beadell.

Here are the Guy halftracks. What Ron does not mention is they were such a pain in the a.... that they reverted to normal wheels and tyres (they were designed to be "quickly" convertible and Terry carried the spare units) to complete the journey. Ron's photo of the trucks with donkeys at Yeeda, near Derby, show them on their tyres.

Great story Lang, I was aware of Terry through reading of his searches for Lassiter and the fabled reef of gold, but was unaware he had accomplished so much in outback exploration. Yet another little known outback pioneer.
