Overnite,

Correct.

You could them under both brand names.

The Bedford was the poverty pack version of the Viva.

Probably been repowered because the original motor would not have powered both those radios and the car at the same time!!!

Bob,
I do not know how I got over the hill without ever getting to the top.

Several British Companies offered these camper conversions on the latest version of what we would consider too small and underpowered vans in the 1950's to 1970's. Vehicles I have seen include Morris Marina (there was an immaculate one for sale in Queensland a few months ago but it was out of my price range and at 6 foot 2 inches tall, I probably could not fit in it) They were also advertised on Austin A50 and Thames (Prefect/Anglia) mini van. Slightly larger and more practical versions were also offered on Kombi-size vans, including Morris, Austin, (TA?)Bedford, Ford Thames etc.

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

Don't forget that driving conditions in England are/were very different to here. Tows average about five milkes apart and have villages in between.
Some years ago, I purchased a workshop manual on eBay from a seller in Sussex, England. I emailed him that I corresponded with a Morris enthusiast in Sussex and gave the address. I asked was that near to him?
He replied "It is about seven and a half miles away, I suppose that is not very far in Australia but it is a long way here"
Seven and a half miles? I told him my Post Office box is further away from home than that!

Recently I got to know a bus driver who obviously came from England. I said to him once "I cannot quite pick your accent, it sounds like Birmingham but not quite." He replied, "Oh no, I was nowhere near there, I grew up five mile from Birmingham."

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

maybe thats where the saying for a country mile comes from. Ask a bushy where a turn off is & they say just a mile up the road & is usually longer
