Overloaded? Not a single cop or Main Roads inspector to be seen. I think this recovery might be wishful thinking - I would love to know the outcome of this winching effort.

This is Ernest Holmes patent for his twin boom system on a Cadillac chassis.

This is supposed to be his first wrecker

Ernest in action

Nothing new under the sun. Looks like a flexible beaver tail to reduce the tray angle.

I love the picture of the Arnolds tow truck, simply a car, possibly a Cadillac, with the rear of the body removed, towing a full sized bus with the front wheels off the ground. The tyres on the Cadillac do not even indicate it is heavily loaded. How many modern cars could do that?

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!
