C1600 tailshaft

Hi,

I’m wanting to shorten the chassis on a c1600 4x4.
Does a tail shaft from a 1300 or 1400 4x4 share the same universals?

The 4x4 has bigger uni s than either of the smaller ones,or than the C1600 4x2.....they have 1410 series in the rear,1350 at the front......but same size 4 bolt pattern in the flanges.

Thanks. Going to try and use the tailshaft off a Inter with a shorter wheel base instead of getting the C1600 one shortened.

You would be surprised how cheap shortening and balancing is. If you make an appointment some driveline people will do it while you wait.

I have had to get tail shafts made up for my last 5 projects and every time, I went in with a price in mind and came out as much as 50% cheaper than I thought, even for jobs requiring universals and flanges or double-Cardin joints for unusual angles.

Shop around if you are near a big city with choices as prices vary.

Does anyone know where to get new radiator hoses for the 281? I have had a look online with no luck.

Also, the drivers window had broken. Will a window off an AA fit?

If you go into Supercheap with the old hoses you will find something pretty close to fit. May need a bit trimmed off.

If all else fails the corrugated flexible hose of the right length will fit almost any application.

Sorry, i just re read their listing and it says - excludes 4x4.
