I have been sent a pretty extensive blurb with this photo, which I shall post later.
Comment and speculation particularly in respect to the drivers, welcome.

Taken on Torrens Parade ground in the city 1920-30 I reckon. Current
fleet of "Golden Fleece Tankers" back then (H.C. Sleigh) well,
certainly for Adelaide & environs.

Building at rear right is the still existing Adelaide Railway Station
now a Casino, Rear Left is the old Govt. Printing Office previously a
Destitute Asylum. Building knocked arse over head to build the
Festival Theatre but today would have been Apartments. Image will
expand ok.
No idea why or who took it but I think it would have been for publicity
for Sleighs & was only revealed when Dad died back in 1957 He was 49.
A lot of my skills today are down to him & I hope he would have been
proud of me.

To the rear of the trucks is the back garden of Government House.

Ground is now asphalt covered & the attached Drill Hall saw off many
servicemen to WW2 but not sure about WW1. Could have.? Was last used
for Army Movements & assembly until prob. 20/30 years ago & now handed
back to the City council.
Hang on, hang on, I'm coming to it :o)

It is unfortunate that I don't know which one is my Dad, as I didn't
know him back then. :o) And he obviously would look very different to
when I did eventually.

This is the description sent to me with the photo.
The fellow who sent me the photo must be losing his marbles, he accused me of being a Gentleman of the Road, but his Dad is one of the drivers.
Roderick, feel free to archive the picture in order that it is saved for posterity.
Also, if you could enhance the picture, Des may be able to identify his Dad.
TIA.

That was an easy one to neaten overall, but it is too small to bring up the details of the drivers to recognition level.
That station was completed in 1928.
The trucks look to be 1920, so the photo can't be far into the 1930s.
Was the photo taken because the trucks had just been purchased?
Are they a matched set? The grille of the third appears to differ.
Torrens parade ground, Adelaide (SA): Golden Fleece delivery fleet. ~1928-1930.

The two far ones look like Chevrolets and the two near ones are almost certainly pommy makes.

I meant 1920s, not 1920, for the trucks. Golden Fleece had a much older history than this photo, and isn't a dating clue.

The trucks were operated by H.C. Sliegh. I don't know if that was part of Golden Fleece, or a contractor.

EDIT: Roderick's link explains it.
