Well for Cobbadog who made a snide remark about my Mack on another thread.

In the last two weeks I have replaced the Conbulating Bifactoral Nebulizer unit on the chassis (the trailer brake control unit with 243 air lines going in to it) and managed to score the last clutch unit overhaul kit in Australia. The job was a watchmaker's delight as I have never seen more tiny valves, springs and diaphragms in my life.

Now I have spent another $1,000 on a $3,000 truck I can move to the crane fitting when old mate next door is available with his backhoe to lift it on.

My Leyland has an air booster on the clutch......if they dont work,it means a very heavy clutch pedal...............about the same as a stock IH Acoo with a Spicer twin plate clutch.

The clutch assist unit was as John says almost impossible to operate until rolling and pushing through the gears. Both it and the trailer brake air unit leaked and the truck would only hold air for about 15 minutes. It now holds overnight. There was no point putting the crane on making things impossible to reach until this job was done.

The time factor has been dictated by a few trips - managed a desert run in the OKA plus a lucky NZ motorhome trip in a short Covid travel window - and two other restorations (the 1941 Chevrolet to go to Darwin and the "new" trailerable houseboat refresh). It looks like a few nice days so the little Ferguson TE20 full repaint will probably be next on top of the list.

Yeah, The insurance company here yesterday. On Monday they are going to cut out all the walls up to 1350 high. The total bullshit is half the downstairs area is recently tiled and they are going to rip up perfectly good flooring "because the grouting absorbs the water and we possibly have some dreaded disease lurking below to leap out at us". No wonder insurance premiums are so high.
